BIVDA Celebrates 'Associations Week 2021'
BIVDA is pleased to support Associations Week 2021, an initiative that shines a spotlight on the work of professional associations and to celebrate the people, employees and volunteers who make associations work. The campaign takes place from 27-30 September, with networking events, a pivot fest and a focus on sustainability, EDI.
BIVDA is the national industry association for the manufacturers and distributors of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products in the UK. As an organisation we represent 95% of the UK IVD industry. These companies are spread across the UK and provide diagnostics throughout the NHS. Our members employ over 8,500 people and have an estimated combined turnover of £1.1 billion in sales to the NHS.
Our goal is to support our member companies through championing the use of IVDs for early diagnosis, informing clinical decisions and supporting the adoption of innovative healthtech. Our team build relationships with and monitor the activities of IVD and life sciences sector companies, regulators and Government departments. The input of our members is key to driving our association’s strategic mission forward, as a collaborative effort to represent the UK’s diagnostic industry in the best way possible.
Darren Stenlake, Chair of BIVDA’s Executive Board said:
“BIVDA’s focus on supporting members in the In-Vitro Diagnostics sector has been invaluable through the COVID pandemic to ensure that clinicians continued to have access to the testing they needed to support the diagnosis and treatment of their patients.”
Mark Reed, BIVDA Executive Board Member said:
"Associations Week is a chance to celebrate the work of professional associations such as BIVDA and the staff who drive them forward. These organisations strive to provide the highest possible service to their members and companies of all sizes, from SMEs to multinationals."
