BIVDA launches its Sustainability Training Programme for members in partnership with SGS

BIVDA launches its Sustainability Training Programme for members in partnership with SGS.

Sustainability is a key issue of operational transformation that the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) sector must take heed of in light of the NHS Net Zero requirements, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the duty we share to conserve the environment. As the trade association for the IVD sector, BIVDA is pleased to be able to help empower and facilitate member companies on their journey towards enhanced sustainability.

The BIVDA-funded Sustainability Training Programme offer is now open for member registration. A dedicated web-page will include the programme information, including SGS course overviews and (most importantly) the booking codes available to membership. The scheme allows for one attendee per BIVDA member company to attend a course free of charge, with a reduced price if a second member company attendee wishes to join. Members can find more information at the link here.

Commenting on the launch, Neil Plumridge, Chair of BIVDA’s Environmental Working Party said:

“With BIVDA members able to get a free place, this is especially useful for Small and Medium Enterprises in the In Vitro Diagnostics sector to learn and prepare for the national and international environmental and sustainability agenda.”

Richard Hames, Chair of BIVDA’s Procurement Working Party said:

“Sustainability is critical to the future of our planet, and with clear direction from the NHS (‘Delivering a Net Zero NHS’) on the importance of this topic, it is great to see BIVDA taking a leadership position by providing training to support members in this area.”

BIVDA Chief Operating Officer Helen Dent said:

“Sustainability is rapidly rising up the agenda of the NHS and the Department of Health and Social Care; it affects our members in many ways and we are committed to helping our member companies to meet and exceed their obligations.”

BIVDA is delighted to be launching this comprehensive training programme for members, the first of its kind in the industry, in partnership with SGS. Our innovative sector is well placed to lead the charge towards a greener life sciences sector and we would encourage all BIVDA members to get involved.
